Privacy Policy

1. Controller

The controller responsible for the processing of personal data within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / DSGVO) is:

2. Scope

This policy applies to the iOS app Tagwerk and to this website. It describes which data are processed and for what purpose — insofar as currently intended.

3. What data the app processes

The app processes only data that you enter yourself, in particular:

These are user inputs for personal organisation. The app does not require a separate user account with the provider.

4. Sick days and special categories of personal data

In Tagwerk, sick days are recorded as an absence marker (that you were absent due to illness), not as a medical diagnosis or clinical detail.

Even so, information about sick days may under certain circumstances constitute special categories of personal data within the meaning of Art. 9 GDPR / DSGVO (health data), insofar as it allows conclusions about your health status.

Tagwerk processes such information solely for the purpose you choose yourself: the private, personal organisation of your times on your device.

In particular:

You can view, change, or delete sick days (like all other app entries) on the device at any time. Where provided by law, you may contact the controller with questions (contact details in this policy).

5. Storage: primarily local on the device

The data you record are stored primarily locally on your device. There is no cloud sync via a separate Tagwerk account with the provider. Optionally, you can sync data across your devices via your iCloud (Apple account) (see section 7). Beyond that, data do not leave the device via the provider of this app — unless you yourself share an export (see section 6).

6. Backup Export/Import and CSV export

Tagwerk offers a backup export and import as a JSON file. On export you can share the file via the iOS system share sheet (e.g. Files, Mail, AirDrop). Data leave the device only because you trigger the share action — the provider does not receive an automatic upload.

On import you can restore a previously created backup (merge or replace, depending on the option chosen in the app).

Additionally you can export a CSV file of the day list — likewise only on your initiative and via the system share sheet.

7. Synchronisation via iCloud

If you are signed in to iCloud on your device, Tagwerk additionally stores your recorded working hours and settings in the iCloud Key-Value storage of your Apple account. This is limited Key-Value sync between your devices with the same Apple ID — not a full cloud backup of the app. Transfer and storage are handled by Apple. As the developer, I have no access to these data. Your work location stays on-device only and is not synchronised. You can turn sync off at any time: iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Tagwerk. 8. Location / arrival reminder (optional)

The optional arrival reminder at the work location is opt-in. Location access serves only the local reminder on the device. No routes and no location history are stored or transmitted to the provider. The stored work location is deliberately not part of the backup export and is not synchronised via iCloud. The arrival reminder is a local notification: it is generated on the device; nothing is sent to a server. If you disable the feature, the related local data are deleted.

9. Widgets and Live Activity

Widgets and Live Activities use the same data present locally on the device. There is no server fetch and no transmission to the provider.

10. No app account; no disclosure for tracking or advertising

Tagwerk does not provide a separate app account with the provider. There is no disclosure of your app inputs to the provider for tracking, analytics, or advertising purposes. Should this change in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly.

11. This website: no own tracking; technically necessary hosting logs

This website is static (HTML/CSS/assets). No cookies are set and no own tracking, analytics, or advertising scripts are embedded by the provider.

The website is served via Cloudflare Pages. When pages are requested, technically necessary access data (access/server logs) may arise at the hosting provider, insofar as Cloudflare processes these as part of hosting. These may include in particular:

Purpose: operation, delivery, security (e.g. abuse and attack detection) and error analysis of the website — not profile-based tracking by the Tagwerk provider.

Retention: Storage and evaluation of such logs follow Cloudflare’s applicable rules and default settings for Pages/CDN. The Tagwerk provider stores no own website analytics profiles and does not evaluate the logs for advertising or usage profiles.
